The easy way to open the hood manually on a 1998 Chevy Cavalier, when the cable is not working is to put the car on a hoist and use a long pole to trip the hood latch. Then lower the vehicle and open the hood the rest of the way. Replace or repair the cable for the hood latch before closing the hood.
Rock got stuck under the hood in the latch release.
If the cable is broke you can crawl under and manually release the hood. It isn't too bad, the area is open and visible from under the car.
Yes. Open the hood and there is an access to crank them open.
do you not have a key to open the door? if you do, use it to open the trunk and climb through to open the door manually
pray and pray or beg and beg or cry and cry
Under the hood right by the light housing there should be a knob that you can turn manually to open the headlights
you can remove the front mesh looking pieces with a hex bit and get to the lever and pull or push manually Where did the cable snap? Mine pulled right out off the plastic handle that you would pull to open the hood. I can still use a pair of pliers to open the hood. If you can get it open again grease or WD-40 the hood latch that keeps the hood secure. It will make it easier to open after that.
You can open them manually by going under the hood and rotating the motors by hand under the round black rubber things next to each headlight
Just get a cable lock and wrap it through your hood and onto something solid in your car. leave enough slack to get the hood open a little and be able to undo the lock.
crawl under the front of the car . Right behind the center of the bumpre using your arm or a tool, manually relase the hood latch
