You have to have a combination. If you have a key lock you don't need a combination, all it is is a lock that says master and a key to turn it and then it opens what you have in it.
You should try out all of the three-digit combination. There are 10x10x10 = 1,000 possible combination (assuming digits 0-10).
It depends on the make of the lock. Many time you need to know the combination. Sesame locks require a pin that goes in the shackle hole when the shackle is 180 degrees from open. Master combination locks with a scroll combination require a reset key that can only be used when the current combination is known in order to change. Other padlocks require the lock to be open and the shackle turned 180 degrees and pushed down while setting the combination.
well if you have a knife or a paper clip you can pick it
I have no idea... I recently discovered that MY lock cannot be opened for some reason. I put in the right combination but it still wont open so I could use the help as much as you can

this is easy. just use a clip!
If you do not have the combination, there is no way to open the lock. A master combination would defeat the purpose of having the lock.
In order to open any combination lock you need to know the correct combination, set each wheel of the lock so that the correct combination of numbers are visible in a line and the lock will then pop open when triggered.

You dont! Whoever said the first answer is stupid i really want to know how and this is the answer i get UUUUUGGGGGGHHHHH
By definition, a combination lock cannot be picked, as it has no key. It can be "cracked" in some cases where putting pressure on the lock and diagnosing the dial can reveal the combination. It can also be "bypassed" where tools are used to open the lock without the use of the combination. Neither of these are "picking" the lock however. In order to pick a lock, it must have a key of some type.
When facing the front of the lock, input the current password and open the lock. While open, press the black button on the left side and change the combination to what you want, then release. The button allows you to change letters without moving the internal tumblers.
The best way to open a combination lock is to enter the combination. If this isn't possible, a hacksaw or bolt cutter may do the trick.
If this is like mine, you must first know the combination to open the lock. If it is locked and you don't remember the combination, or don't know it, you will probably have to cut it off with bolt cutters. When lock is open you may then set to any combination you like. The lock will memorize whatever the combination was when it is closed. Once closed change the numbers and the lock will not open until the combination showing when the lock was closed is dialed in.
There really is no way. If you put the lock on something open important, you may have to cut the lock.
To reset a Schwinn bike lock combination you will have to locate the reset lever at the top of the lock. Push and press this lever until it is flat. Enter the combination that you wish to use. Press the reset lever again to set the combination.
