why is my 2006 Nissan altima gear shift stuck in park
There could be a couple of reasons why a Nissan vehicle could be stuck in park. The shifter could be stuck or broken. The transmission may also be out or in need of fluid.
you don't
If broke you probably will need to use a screw driver to break it open and replace. I don't know any other way in without breaking the lock.
You can use a screw driver to help pull open a stuck glove box. Once it is open spray the hinges with a degreaser to help prevent it from sticking again.

It might be, though the dealer/manufacturer may try to argue that the warranty doesn't cover "user errors". In that case you'll have to be tough and convince them that it was a defect in the car that caused this to happen. Things in the glove compartment shouldn't be flying into the engine! The bottom line is actually to find out what is covered in the "limited warranty". I would go ahead and try to get a warranty repair.

Causes of over heating: insufficient coolant; antifreeze/water mixture not correct; thermostat stuck in closed position; faulty water pump; clogged/dirty radiator; leaks in the system.
