No, it has the normal manual lock for each door and the boot
In the boot on under the carpet on the right hand tail light
Doors are not locking and the dashboard says boot open whenever the ignition key is turned on
No.
Connect a slave battery to the alternator live terminal and an earth. Then the central locking should work.
from inside. drop rear seats get in boot unlock by hand its a kind of latch. you wont be able to lock it again though unless you get in boot everytime
I had the same problem. Now I can only open and lock the car using the boot lock! There are two locking systems on the passat. The boot and obviously by locking the door(driver's).I would say that the boot locking system is acting up or stopped working altogether.Do the rest of the doors open when you turn the key in the boot? That would suggest it's the boot locking system.I know it's a common problem with that year and year's before.I know four people who have had it.Usually requires changing the lock on the boot.
If the central locking isn't working, there is a pull cord in the boot that will release the lock on the petrol flap.
The fuse box is in the boot on the left hand side does the washers and boot central locking unit. Dont know what number it is though sorry. It will tell you on the index inside the fuse box cover or in your manual.
Relays are on the circuit board in the pump unit. This is located in a foam case in the boot right hand side.Usually changed as a complete unit.
