You don't open them, you plant them to grow palm trees. When they grow and get fruit you can plant more or sell them for 500 bells each. They are tough to raise though, but when they're fully grown, The herculese, elephant, atlas and goliath beetles may appear on them, they will add to your collection and also sell high.
