Original answer "Just push on theright side of the gas tank door itself and it will open."
Actually on the newer models, you push on the left side of the fuel door. I just discovered this the hard way while at a gas station with a rental car that had no user's manual in the glove compartment. You can't push or pull the fuel door open from the right side and there is no lever or button to be found inside the car....very frustrating!
