Original answer "Just push on theright side of the gas tank door itself and it will open."
Actually on the newer models, you push on the left side of the fuel door. I just discovered this the hard way while at a gas station with a rental car that had no user's manual in the glove compartment. You can't push or pull the fuel door open from the right side and there is no lever or button to be found inside the car....very frustrating!
Just push on the side.
My car is 2000 Mitsubishi Galant 4cyl. 2.4L and it has 16.3galon gas tank. The fuel efficiency is 20 MPG city, and 27 MPG highway.
The gas tank of a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant holds 12 gallons of fuel. This allows for over 300 miles of travel before refueling.
In the gas tank
The fuel pump is in the gas tank
Doubtful. Crawl under the car and look see.
I was told by Mitsubishi of groton that the fuel filter was in the Gas tank so there was no real need to replace it.
I have a 2010 mitsubishi galant i have to push the gas to start the car what's wrong
21mpg
What year is your car? I have a 2001 Galant GTZ and my gas door is one that you have to push. Mine you push the right side of the fuel door.

there are 2,one is in the gas tank and another one ''inline'' going to the furl injector.on some models you can check under the backseat/boot area to test the wiring without actually removing the gas tank
