your question doesn't make a lot of sense. there is no top or container housing the filter. you replace the whole thing, the procedure is described earlier in this forum

some caps that do not have a place for a ratchet a special wrench is made for it cost about 10.00 at local parts store you can use pry bar and hammer to tap it counter clockwise. use caution.

If none of the above steps work you can try using the jaws of a pair of channel-lock pliers. On my old 2001 Powerstroke the filter top had fins. Insert the open jaws of the pliers vertically between the fins and use the handles as a lever and turn the cap counter-clockwise to loosen the filter cap. Use care so as not to crack the fins with the pliers. When putting the cap back on, make sure that you do not pinch the O-Ring between the cap and the housing.
