Left side of the steering column lower dash there is a trunk open button.
Left side by the steering column there is a trunk switch.
My 1998 Lexus LS400 has a small lever to pull that releases the trunk. The lever is on the left side of the dash about 8 to 10" from the door. This lever can be locked with the key, so that the trunk cannot be accessed without unlocking the lever with the key. Note that the Valet Key cannot be used to unlock this lever. Note that the gas fill door release is to the left of the trunk release lever.
Under the CD player in the trunk
you can get a new trunk button as long as its unlocked you7 can plug it in and it will work
if you open the trunk you will find a carpeted section on the lid and in the corner of the trunk where the lights are. You need to open the access doors to the light bulbs and replace the bulbs. the sensor will need to be reset by someone that can reset the codes
pop the subwoofer out and get a metal cloths hanger
I came across this problem. There is a lock below the steering wheel that will cause the trunk lever to disengage when it is pushed in. Use the master key to turn the lock (located below the steering wheel). It must be the master key. Without the master key you will need to remove the lock (located below the steering wheel). Good luck.
A Lexus GS 400 has 300 horsepower.
post your question on www.lexusownersclub.com they have people there who know that answer
There is a cosmetic panel on the back panel of the trunk. If you remove that, there are 4 bolts on each side, and the tail lights pop out. You cannot get to the bulbs from inside the trunk, they must be removed.
