Either their is something wrong with your internat or your halo custom edition is stuffed because it does let you play maybe you need to reinstall halo custom edition.

To play campaign mode in Halo Custom Edition you need a custom AI file. Downloadable from http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=1&sid=26 . You need to download a custom AI file with Campaign mode and put it in the 'halo/maps' folder. Don't forget to backup the original AI file (just rename it).
