you must log in with a premium account so it can download the packages
There is an option on the downloaded version that says "play offline" click that.
You probably have to buy the original game, then delete your user and password on it and press login, then press play offline

If you have bought Minecraft and downloaded it, you can play it whenever you like, on or offline. Just click Play offline when it says 'Can't connect to Minecraft.net'. But, if you haven't downloaded it, you can't play offline.
You can well kinda, First download minecraft to your computer after playing the demo, then enter your username but not your password after opening minecraft that you downloaded, when it says: can't login click play offline, and there you go but you can't play multiplayer.
This means that you havn't downloaded/bought the game. There should be an option that says, "play offline" if you want to use that.
This happens if the minecraft launcher can't get access to the minecraft servers. If you play the game from the website first, then you will get access to an offline version through the launcher
Delete %appdata%\.minecraft and change your password. Then in the login screen, hit options and force update.
You must re-download all the required files for Minecraft to run again. This happens when you play online.

Wen says bad request the server isn't offline, you can change it in server.properties.
