You go to your menu and select it to either y,z or x then press one of the following buttons (the one you set it to) and then it comes up as Link holding the ocarina to his mouth then you use any of the buttons like A,up,down,left,right and if you do it in a certain sequence you know (Link knows) it will be played again well replayed and then what happens is it effects your surroundings like in ocarina of time the song of storms A,Down,Up,A,Down,Up makes it temporarily rain and it may reveal secret places also may make a red fairy appear and restore all your health and magic. And Epona's song Up,Left,Right,Up,Left,Right makes Epona come to you in hyrule field ONLY so the ocarina songs do effect your surrounding's. But some do not depending on where you may be.
