Well if you know where the d string is than you can play an e with one finger an f# with two fingers and a g with three i havent learned how to play the note with four fingers but I do know that with no fingers on it is an open d string
You can play tons of notes on the c string, but if you want to play something that can be played on the a,d,or g string it will require shifting.
An octave is a stepping stone, of sorts. On a viola, their are multiple notes that play 'a'. On the G String, first finger is 'low a' On the A string, open is 'a' They are separated by an octave. An octave is the distance between two of the same notes. To play a two octave scale, start with first finger D on the C String and end with Third finger D on the A string. The Viola has four strings: A, D, G, C. C is the lowest.
the highest viola note is the A string. the second highest note is the D string. the third highest note is the G string. And the deepest snow is the string. the a string is the farthest to the right when you are holding it properly. the D string is right next to it although it is on the left of the A string.
Third finger
I play viola myself and so the strings are: A, D, G, and C. The C string is the closest to your left and the A closest to your right, or your bow hand. To play the notes on each of the strings, place your finger down on the yellow or red or white tapes and move your bow.
I play the Viola,as well F#F#GAA("A" string,not 4 fingers on "D" string")GF#EDDEF#F#EE (Same notes for second quarter,just end with "D,D" instead of "E,E" EEF#DEF#GF#DEF#GFDDEA F#F#GAAGF#EDDEF#F#DD
i`d say the violin because it`s smaller than not taller than the viola and the viola is hard to play
The lowest (thickest) string on the viola is the C string. When played without any fingers down, it is a C. One half step up is C#, another half-step up is D, then D#, then E, then F, F#, and G. This G is the exact same G as the open G string, the next string up. Each notes goes up by a half step until you reach D, which is the next open string, and then finally A, which is the highest string.

First, play OPEN on the D string. Then, play a D on the A string. Play an OPEN on the A string, then go down. G on the D string, F on the D string, and E on the D string. Then, a D on the A string. Then it gets tricky. D on the A, G on the D, F on the D, and then back up to G on the D. Then, just an E on the D. Fingerings look like this: 0 on D, 3 on A, 0 on A, 3 on D, 2 on D, 1 on D, 3 on A, 0 on A, 3 on D, 2 on D, 3 on D, 1 on D.
To play D notes on the guitar, place your index finger on the second fret of the G string, your ring finger on the third fret of the B string, and your middle finger on the second fret of the high E string. Strum these three strings together to play a D chord.
The easiest way to play it is to start in first position with your first finger on the C string this is the starting D, then play as follows: D E F# G A B C# D E F# G A B C# D then play those notes in reverse for 2nd half of the scale.
