My best tip: Don't make promises to God, he doesn't need you to promise, He just wants you to honour Him
Remember, God doesn't give up on you, he has endless forgiveness, remember, no matter how many times you screw up God loves you no less.
Finally, keep praying about the issue, ask God to help lift it from you, you will be stronger, if your question is literally, How? Try just saying to God to lift the issue from you, find the trigger points and pray when they happen, just pray continuously and worship, remember that it is worth it.
