You need to go to the proper schooling, you need patients, emotionaly strong too. You will also stick your hand up alot of animals buts. You can't ba afraid of ANY animals.

You may be able to get summer internships while in highschool or at least be able to take a summer camp that teaches you the profession, like vet camp, or observe a person at work.
You should take as difficult of math and science courses as you can handle. If your school offers pre-algebra in 8th grade, this is a good idea if you are ready for it.
