Once you become level 50 and get the final amount of xp (A new icon should appear at the right hand side of your experience bar on your playercard) a new option will become white saying 'Prestige Mode'.
You can either Prestige for free or pay 50,000 Cod Points to compete on the 'Prestige Leaderboards'.
When you prestige, your levels get reset, as well as your guns and classes. Basically, you start again but with a new level icon and only your emblem, title and clan tag.
