If by growing out you mean that the piercing has literally been pushed out of the skin, than this is called rejection, and is pretty common. If you have been using Alcohol or Peroxide during the healing process, this could be the cause, or wearing overly heavy jewelry could be doing it. Sometimes the human body just fights piercings (it is a foreign object pushed through the skin after all) and will cause rejection even if you do everything right. When you have it re pierced, make sure to have it done in a creatable tattoo or piercing parlor which uses needles (not a piercing gun) and during the healing process clean the piercing with Dial brand antibacterial hand soap when you take your shower, use Triple Antibiotic Ointment to keep out infection twice a day, but if infection does occur use a salt solution (I use H2Ocean) to fight the infection.
