You get options to print.
If you are referring to the button on a word document or in a window, the print button allows you to print what is on the screen of the computer. For example, if you press the print button in Microsoft word, your entire document will be printed unless you specify what pages.
on a mac you go to file=print

the print button
You press a button and it will print it for you.
generally the green button is power so obviously by hitting that button it will make the printer turn on and get a signal from the computer. If it is a printer/scanner/etc then it is a confirm button. When i print something here it asks on the printer "Are you sure you want to print?" and i hit the green button to confirm i wanted to print that.
Use the print screen function (hold down the Home button and then press the power button) with a Contact displayed on the screen. Then, print the image.
