ive got this stupid question in my level 3 too lol
A riveted joint known as Lozengejoint used for roof, bridge work or girdersetc. In such a joint,*diamond riveting is employed so that thejoint is made of uniform strength.
The efficiency of riveted joints is the ratio between the minimum strength of the joint against failure by tension, shear or bearing to that of the members without a joint .balamurugan.g
Riveting - when a solid fastener is placed in a drilled hole and expanded to hold an object in place. Welding - when a thin wire ('filler') is melted along with the area of bonding on the workpieces, which form a joint when cooled.

A riveted joint with single rivet and a bolted connection with single bolt are perfect pin-joints. When number of rivets/ bolts along the axis of member increases, the degree of restriction to rotation gradually increases and becomes a rigid joint, which prevents rotation by offering moment reaction.
if it is original the upper ball joint is riveted in, it will need to be chisel out, there are four rivets and then the nut that holds it to the control arm.new ball joint will come with bolts and nuts
When two pieces of metal are joined by welding they become one as if they were made that way. Welding replaced riveting and reduced the amount of metal used while producing a stronger joint.
The ball joints are riveted or pressed into the upper and lower control arms, then the spindle is bolted to the ball joints.
use a pickle fork to bust it loose from the spindle and then they are usually pop riveted in place if they have never been changed, drill the pop rivets out and the ball joint is out, install the new ball joints with bolts and nuts.
Bursitis, arthritis, and gout are just a few of the various joint diseases. Anything that alters or hinders the function of a joint can be considered a disease.
Go to AutoZone.com, They have on line repair manuals. The arm has two bolts to the frame and the ball joint has a pinch bolt to the steering knuckle. place a jack under the knuckle and jack it up a little, then pry ball joint out, unbolt frame bolts and pull it out. The bushings can now be replaced. I would replace the whole arm while its out, the ball joint is riveted in the frame Go to AutoZone.com, They have on line repair manuals. I am not familiar with this car in particular but ball joints are either pressed in, bolted, or riveted into the control arms. On top of the ball joint is the steering knuckle, usually the ball joint is held into the steering knuckle with a pinch bolt. Which is easily removed. After the pinch bolt is removed you must force the control arm away from the steering knuckle which sometimes requires the use of an air hammer. Depending on what type of fit the control arm has with the ball joint, you will either need a special tool to press out the old ball joint and press in the new one, if the ball join is a press fit. Or if it is riveted you will have to carefully drill out the rivets and replace the new one with bolts. If it is bolted in you simply loosen the bolts and knock out the old ball joint. Installation is reverse.
