Well, in general terms chicken manure has heating value. It can be burned and generate heat. You take that heat and convert water to steam. This is done in a piece of equipment called a boiler. You can burn anything in a boiler which is designed to transfer the heat to water and turn it into steam. The steam is run throught a steam turbine which is connected to a generator. The turbine turns the generator and produces electicity.

This is done everyday in non-nuclear power plants except that manure is not used. Instead, oil, propane, or coal is used, sometimes garbage. What ever deliver the most heat at the least costs. But you can generate electricity by burning any organic material.
