How do you program the garage door opener in your Chevy Malibu?

  Enter your Malibu Maxx with your garage remote. Turn your key in the ignition to the "ACC" position.

  Press the two outer buttons on your HomeLink system and hold the two buttons until the system's red indicator light begins flashing.

  Hold your garage handheld remote an inch away from the HomeLink system. Press and hold the "Open" button on your remote and the button you would like to program on the HomeLink system.

  Hold both buttons until the LED light on the HomeLink system starts flashing more rapidly, then release both buttons.

  Press and hold the "Training" button on the HomeLink system and continue holding it until the LED light on the HomeLink stops flashing. Once the flashing has stopped, the programming sequence will be completed and you will be able to turn your ignition back to the "Off" position.
