How to program the sunvisor remote control for a garage on ls lincon
AnswerDepends on the garage door opener you have. For the most part hold the button on the visor until it flashes fast, or slow, Just so you see the light change. Then hold the button on you garage door remote next to the visor until the light on the visor changes again. This should do it. Now if you have a rolling code garage door opener then you need to locate the learn button on the garage door opener motor. Press the learn button until it changes and then run to your car and press the visor button until you see the light on the garage motor hold steady. Good luck. Also, try www.homelink.com

some garage door motors have a switch or button on the motor that raises the door. This switch has to be turn to the program position. You will need to have the hand held garage door opener held about 2 inches from the opener on in the Navigator. 1. hold the button on the visor that you want to use for the for the garage until the light on visor changes. then press both the visor and hand held opener button at the same time. Pushing the the hand held about three time. I hope this works for you. It did for me.
read your manual.
I just did this on my '04 SRX purchased June '08. First step is to clear out the old codes and get the unit ready for programming. To do this hold both the far left anfd far right buttons in until they blink rapidly and then stop. This is only done once as it clears all the codes. Once it is ready to program you hold down the one button you want to program and also hold down the button of you remote. Keep the remote right next to the visor to ensure they are communciatoing. The visor light will blink slowly then rapidly then go off. When it stops blinking the programming is compelted.
Chevy doesnt offer that option. Get a visor clip on unit...LOL!
the buttons could be for the built in garage door opener... im not familer with that model but they were used at that time
Remove the sun visor retaining screws. The sun visor will slide off of the sun visor rod. Lubricate the sun visor rod. Put the sun visor back on.
If you do not have a scrolling code remote system, it is relatively easy. 1. make sure that you have erased all prior set codes in your car by pressing buttons 1 and 3 for a full 20 secs. The light will remain full then blink. When it blinks, you have erased all codes. 2. Hold your hand held remote right next to the visor and press both the number 2 button and the hand held button until the LED light on the visor does a fast blink. You have now programmed your visor. now you need to program your car to the overhead motor. 3. There is a button (purple perhaps) at the back of the unit...it might be termed the training button or the learning button. Push it once and release. The yellow light will come on only for 30 seconds. 4. Press the number 2 button on your visor until you hear two clicks..happens pretty fast. Release the button. 5. Press the button and see if the door closes. If not, you might have a scrolling code system.
