The Northstar cooling system is self-purging. It's highly doubtful that you have an "air pocket" but if you must do something, take the cap off the surge tank and let the engine warm to around operating temp. If there are any bubbles they'll vent from the surge tank. Then replace the cap and you're good to go. But I'd be very suprised if you have an 'air bubble'. They just don't happen on the Northstar.
4.6 Northstar. It is located on the rear of engine(driver side) in front. It is 1n the the water pump housing cover. Remove airbox and intake tube and bottom radiator hose. 2 bolts(believe 10mm) on thermo housing. These systems are a lil finiky about air pockets....so fill slowly and let run at idle until operating temp and let cool and chk level.....fill as needed and repeat if needed.
Just keep the reservoir filled to the right line and the cooling system should take care of the air bubbles after a while, provided that the radiator cap is sealed for both pressure AND vacuum.
