Pull the flywheel off.
You have to pull tranny. it is sandwiched between that & block, but pretty straight forward.
Go to www.Bike Bandit .com go to OEM parts put in your year and model and pull up the diagram
Start by removing the stator side engine cover. There should be around 10-12 bolts (8mm). Next pull the flywheel. On the backside of the flywheel is 8 Allen bolts. Remove these and your starter clutch assembly will be off.

Pull the motor out of the car and change it.
pull it off haah!
There's different colored links on the cam chain, pull off the pull start cover, flywheel and next cover behind flywheel and line up all the marks on the chain and sprockets... it would be a lot more fun if you could see the bottom crankshaft timing sprocket just by taking off one cover but it's hidden deep in the engine and the flywheel is in the way to see it. There's not really any timing marks on the head to line anything up with exactly just the gold links on the chain from what I can see. I didn't pull all the flywheel out, just went top dead centre on my bike and pointed the cam dots (2 dots) up the top and started straight up,
The 300 express is a two stroke but they run like a 4 stroke if yours is in good condition like mine! first cold pull start. but very fun 2 stroke 4 wheelers. quick and simple and you dont have to worry about problems with 4 wheel drive!
I had the same problem, but then I looked at the rear tires, the one on the right ( same side the chain is in ) was closer to the front of the four wheeler than the other tire. Then I lifted the rear of the quad and it was because my rear bearings were gone and needed to be replaced, which would pull the rear tires back in line tightening the chain.
Between the engine and the trans. You will have to pull the trans to get to it.
Yes, should be one on the right of the quad
