How do you punch in the game a tale of colours?

You can punch by pressing the "x"-key. (Note: depending on the language, it may be another key. For example on German keyboards it's the "y"-key.)

But BEFORE you are allowed to punch things, you have to unlock this power. You can do it, once you have flown over the mountain top, some time after unlocking the double jump. (If you're stuck: have a look at a YouTube-walkthrough for the game.)
