Sending people to Mars is not fundamentally different than sending people to the Moon, which we did for the first time in 1969 (although the people we sent to the moon came back to Earth and did not create a lunar colony). Mars is, of course, much farther away from us than the moon is, but that just means that it takes more time to get there. The technology of planetary space travel already exists (although doubtlessly improvements are possible with additional research and development). All that it would take at this point, to send colonists to Mars, would be a very large amount of money. If we could get a general agreement among the human race that it is very important to put a colony on Mars, so that we would spend our money on that rather than (for example) spending it on fighting pointless wars, colonizing Mars could be done in a few years.
As of now, there is no human colony on Mars. There have been plans by various space agencies and private companies to establish a permanent settlement on Mars in the future, but this has not yet been realized.
Yes
Mars One is a nonprofit organization based in the Netherlands that has plans to establish a permanent human colony on the planet Mars by 2025.
A colony of ants has invaded the house! I hope that the first colony on Mars has a nice view.
The planet that has enough density to support the weight of a colony is Mars. Scientists have discovered that Mars is relatively similar to the conditions on Earth.
no
There is no colony on Mars and no space shuttle will be traveling to Mars. There is a robotic probe on Mars. No human being has ever been there. At the present time (2013) it is impossible to say if any human being ever will go there. Certainly some people would liketo go there. But no trips are scheduled.
the moon because its closer to earth
It will be me and I will be famous. I am going to have this huge colony.....of bees. And I will be queen.
you can find them on google just put in pictures of mars
Yes, Mars has all the right stuff to Live Of The Land. Cheaper to stay there ,5 Bill a year to maintain Colony, and what science we would learn! For the crazy few who would take on such an adventure I say Go For It ! Mars need sus, and we neded Mars
the answer is yes Jupiter IS bigger than neptune and mars put together. im 100% sure!
