To place a header in a Microsoft Word document using Microsoft office 2007, go to the insert tab. Near the middle of the tab is an option for either a header of footer, click the one you want. If you are using and older version of office, I think you go to view in the toolbar and click the header/footer menu, but I haven't used the older office in a while, so this might be wrong.

The header is located at the top of the document, thus the name "header". To edit or add a header, click on the menu tab labeled "view", then you can select the option "header/footer" Now you can edit your header.

In order to make a header in a word document you need to first open a blank document in the program, click on insert than click on default header. Input the words you would like to have in your header than press the space bar, click on "Insert", "Fields" and then "Page Number". After that, click on the bottom of the page.

Why does the header on the cover page differ from the header in the other pages of an APA formatted paper?

The header on the cover page of an APA formatted paper typically includes the words "Running head" followed by a shortened version of the title. This is to help identify the paper and provide a concise header. The subsequent pages exclude "Running head" and only display the shortened title as the header to maintain consistency and professionalism throughout the document.
