Up the top of Powerpoint, there's a bar that says File, Edit, View, Insert etc. click on Insert, and there should be a dropdown menu. Find on the menu 'Picture' and click on it. Then there should be another menu. Find 'From File' and click on it. A box will come up that says 'Insert Picture'. You can then search up the picture you want!

Information about the subject
Do you really want to change the photos to something else? you can use something like XNViewer (google it, it's a free viewer) to view them as they are. If you want to distribute the sequence of photos as a single entity then why not put them into PowerPoint? A picture per slide would give you what you want.
Type it in on google, set preference o extra large, copy paste to a powerpoint, size it the way you want it, and print it on photo paper.
What you do is you save the PowerPoint as a WMV (windows movie video) then go to movie maker, click import video or photo, then select the PowerPoint that you saved as WMV, voila! Hoped this helped. PS. I think it works for XP + Vista, i use windows seven and it works.
Make a PowerPoint with the words of a song and put pics and stuff to go with the song
