"Celebrates" is a verb that is in the present tense. It also is only paired with a 3rd person singular noun I believe (I'm not an English major). For example you could say, "Tom celebrates Christmas by spending it with his family" or you could use it with an idea, for example, "Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus".
