When you installed The Sims 3, it should have made a folder somewhere. Go inside that and there should be another folder called "Custom music" and you can put music in there and it should play when you are playing the sims 3
You go to your files and go to Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Custom Music
Then go to 'My Music' in your files (if you dont have any download some) and then just drag whatever songs you want into the custom music folder and it should then work in your game.
There is a cheat for it. Basically, you hold down control, shift and the letter 'c' all at the same time and a dark blue bar will appear at the top of the screen. Then type in testingcheatsenabled true -exactly how it is there. Then hold down just control and shift this time, whilst clicking on any sim. Three or four options will come up, one of them being custom music. Press on that and it should say from there. !

This is how to add custom music if you play sims 3 on a pc: Go to: My Computer>(the drive you installed Sims to)>Program Files>Electronic Arts> The Sims 3>GameData>Shared>NonPackaged>CustomMusic and drop files into this folder. They then should play on your sims' stereo, under custom music :)
First you go to documents and then click on electronic arts then the sims 3 and then click the custom music... then just drag ur music from itunes or limewire or what ever u use for music.
Windows Vista Specific answer. Yes! Just copy your own mp3's into; C:\Users\your_user_name\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Custom Music Obviously you need to change drive letter if your 'Documents' folder is not on your 'C' drive! (Note: DON'T put them into any Sims folder in Program Files)
Yes, if there is a 'Custom Music' option on your radio, you can. Here is what to do: They already give you some songs to start out with that are not Sim music, but you can add your own. You must first search your documents or applications on your computer until you find your Sims 3 folder. Then, you open it up. Sometimes you can have a few folders titled 'The Sims 3' but find one with a bunch of other folders in it. There will then be a folder that says 'Custom Music'. You open that up and you can drag any music you have into there (I usually use Mp3 music) and it will automatically go into your radio in The Sims. You do not have to close and reopen the game for it to take effect. Just open the Sims back up and you can select custom music on your radio, and your music will be there. :] Hope this helped!
You can find custom content on various third-party websites, or by downloading pre-made Sims with custom content from the Sims 3 Exchange.
There are Sims 3 custom worlds, and you can find them on a variety of websites in the Internet.
Happy Simming! <3 FSC
custom content is legal for the sims 3 and any other game, unless it breaks copyright laws
If I understand correctly what you mean, yes

I think the easiest way is to upload them or create them on the Sims 3 Community and download them off Exchange. Then make sure your game can run WITH custom content and when the file of the sim you want to install has downloaded, run your game and the custom sim, whether it is a vampire, dog, human etc, should be in Create A Sim when you start a new game.
