if you are completely unfamiliar with thr procedure it's best to take it to an expert.But if you are hard headed like me and insist on diy the cheap way is to buy a can of r-234 at wall mart with the hose that comes with it.That being said there are other problems besides low freon that can cause a lack of cooling like a dirty evaporator or condensor and you could possibly overcharge the system causing more problems than you started with.thats why refer guy's make good money they go to school and get certified.anyway make shure you add the freon to the low side or the can could explode.
