The starter is bad or the engine is locked up. Make sure the starter getting power then turn the engine by hand.
Yes you can
buy a new starter or go to a junk yard and find another one and replace it if the key keeps spinning you probably need a new lock and tumbler (you can pick them up at a local auto parts store).
check your wiring, if all your wiring is good then test your ignition relay, if its not the starter, not the battery, and not the wiring there's only one thing left. Good Luck with the repair
It usually takes between 1 and 2 hours to put a new starter on a car. This includes removing the old one and hooking up the new one.
Disconnect the positive battery cable and then take out the starter bolts and remove the wires/ then put the wires onto the new starter, put the stater back on and then put the battery cable back on.
With the greatest of difficulty. ;-) If it's like my 1993 Vision, the starter is high on the left side of the engine just below the exhaust manifold. Can't see it very well, but you can reach it from the top. Two bolts I think.
Ijust paid 289.00 to have a new starter put on my 2003 Taurus.
Disconnect the positive battery cable from the battery . Jack up the right front side of truck . Disconnect the cables from the starter and and remove the two bolts that hold the starter in place and it should drop down without to much trouble and then do the reverse to put the new one in .
I have a 305-70-16 on my stock 99 f250 diesel.
