1. They don't fit. All GB games seem to have beveling on the front edges of the cartridge, but the difference between GB color and DS cartridges is that the back side of the DS ones have small pieces cut out of the plastic near the bottom, about a centimeter long, that prevent a GB color cartridge from fitting into a DS.
Persistent as I was to play my new copy of Pokemon Blue, I took a utility knife and whittled away at the plastic until it would fit. This, sadly, led to my second point...
2. Even if they do fit, the DS won't recognize the game. It's sad but true. I won't say this is true of all games, but the Pokemon GB color games just don't show up. It will claim that "There is no Game Pak inserted." This leads me to believe that since the cartridges wouldn't fit, Nintendo just didn't make the DS compatible with the old games.
No, you cannot play gameboy color games on the Nintendo DS. In order to play gameboy color games, the DS would have to have a special processor included, and it would need an infra-red port and link cable slot in order to play both gameboy and gameboy color games. This would make the machine bulkier, and need more hardware, and the cost would be higher. The creators at Nintendo decided it would be better to exclude gameboy and gameboy color games from the system.
One thing to think about though the Nintendo DSi has no gameboy games, unless they are talking gameboy pocket or something but DS and DS Lite do have a GBA slot, it just isn't able to play gb color. I tried but it was too big so just remember that.
Um... I think you can't. Try it out if you want. I doubt it will work however.
You cannot play GBC games on the ds, only ds and game boy advance.
yes and if you are Andrew clutter im slade.
you cant not the big fat ones at least.
yes.
One problem is sometimes when you put the game in, it doesn't come up. You usually then have to blow in the game and where the game is put in, in the game boy. Another problem, if you put the game in the game boy wrong, its sometimes hard to get out.
yes. u put the game in the slot in the bottom.
No, the Nintendo DSi cannot have Gameboy Color OR Gameboy Advance games in them
Yes, you can
you can replace it unless you want to put the GBC together again. the original game boy's speaker is about 1.5x larger than the GBC's, it wont fit in the case.
You cannot play GBC games on a DS.
on the bottom of it theres a slot, take it ot and put game in then go on to the ds and at the bottom of the page it got gameboy game
Game Boy pocket is more compact and is easier to put in your pocket than the tradition type of Game Boy.
No... they haven't made gameboy games for 10 years.
First try turning it on. Are your batteries dead?
yes!
yes put it in the game boy game slot
