Put the can on a flat surface such as table or counter. Hold the lid so the cap is in the palm of your hand to give you leverage. Position the rim of the lid nearest your wrist in position against the rim of the can while holding the can firmly in place with your other hand. Slowly add pressure downward and toward the opposite side of the lid until it snaps in place. Make sure the pressure is slow and steady so as to not to cause the can to collapse. This is more prone to happen with store brand soda cans than with national brand soda cans.
