you should be able to press the button on the top left corner (has three line things) then press the letter "L" ... hold for a few seconds and the screen will be unlocked.
after the screen is unlocked you might need to go to settings (the top left corner button with the three lines) then network to manually select your own network... i have att and it didnt make me do this but hope that helps.

In order to unlock a sidekick, you must know the persons pass code, type it in, and then it will unlock. I have also heard that for the 3 Sidekick 3 and or 1 and 2, there is a glitch. If you don't know the pass code then all you have to do is press the 4 main buttons on and poff several times quickly. Hope this helps!!!!!!!!
