This will require a photo editing program such as Photoshop. Typically, what you do is open both photos and a new window. You'd use the selection tool to select all of the first image, use the copy command, and then paste that into the new window. Then you make sure the new image is sized to be large enough to contain the second image too. Then you copy the second source image and paste it into the new image. Yes, assuming Photoshop, it will appear to overwrite what was there. You then immediately switch the the Move Selection tool (the one to the right of the Selection tool) and move the copied portion of the second source image into its proper location.
This is a general overview and assumes the user has some working knowledge of their editing software.
