You can go to the Task Manager and end the process, however I do not recommend this as Microsoft Office might not have been installed properly, leading to problems with using the program. If you really need to end it, go ahead and do it that way.
But to be safe, you can re-install Microsoft Office and everything should be fixed.

As far as I know, Microscoft Office is NOT included in any version of Windows Vista. Microscoft Office 2007 is frequently found 'pre-loaded' on new computers shipped with Vista, but when you start any OFFICE program, you will be asked to register the program which starts a trial use timer. I believe that OFFICE will quit working after 30 days or so if you do not formally purchase it ($$$). Note: Microsoft WORKS may be included, but WORKS and OFFICE are not the same product; WORKS has simplified functionality but may meet your home or small business needs.
