There is only one way to safely reboot. Close all of your programs and click on the shut-off or restart button on your PC. What people do not realize is there are 20 or 30 programs running in the background and if you just hit the power off button without shutting down your PC those files can get corrupted and cause problems.

Depends on what you mean by reset. In most instances a Restart is considered a reset. But to completely reset the computer to factory default you would need to reformat the hard drive and reinstall the operating system.

Where is reset button on Lenovo laptop?

On most Lenovo laptops, the reset button can be found on the bottom of the laptop, near the battery compartment. It is usually a small hole with the word "reset" written next to it. You can use a paperclip or a similar object to press the button. Alternatively, you can also try to reset your Lenovo laptop by using the Windows "Reset this PC" feature. To do this, go to the Start menu, click on "Settings" and then select "Update & Security". Under the "Update & Security" menu, click on the "Recovery" option and then select "Reset this PC". This will allow you to reset your laptop to its original factory settings and will remove all of your personal files and data. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Where is the cmos battery located in a Compaq Presario R3000 Laptop?

After taking apart the laptop (see instructions at http://www.takeitapart.net/forum/index.php/topic,5.0.html) I found there is a CMOS battery under the keyboard, but it is soldered to the motherboard. This doesn't make it useful as a reset. I did not find a jumper or any other reset switch internal to the laptop. My research seems to suggest that holding the power button for 30 seconds is supposed to reset the CMOS. Unfortunately, that did not help in my case, but may for yours.
