How do you rebuild a 19L engine on a 1995 Mercury Tracer?
The answer cannot be posted on line. Too much information and
variables to post here. Purchase a repair manual at most auto parts
stores for instructions. You better be skilled before attempting
this. This is a job for someone who knows what they are doing, not
an amateur. I was forced to rebuild mine when the #4 intake valve
cracked and dropped into the cylinder. Yes, you will definitely
need the repair manual, a comprehensive set of hand tools, a good
torque wrench, a cylinder wall hone, an air compressor, and a means
to hoist the engine. Also something else to drive- it took me
almost three months to complete. But the job is doable- I have over
110K miles on the rebuild and it is still running strong.
