Well as a computer repair technician i made a list of steps that we go through to get rid of computer infections (viruses, worms, trojans, ect) at http://speedupmycomputer.webs.com/
It is possible that a virus could do that. Remove the virus as soon as possible.
To enable registry after virus has disabled it , first use an antivirus to remove the virus. but antivirus cannot enable registry , so you need a small free tool called : smart virus remover this tool is not a full antivirus but it has the ability to remove virus effects ( enabling regestry , enabling folder options and show hidden files , enabling task manager ) it also has ability to remove small viruses like autorun .

Registry Defender virus is a fake registry cleaner and rogue registry repair application advertised via a trojan horse virus. It can significantly slow down your computer and internet.
I think so.But before you take advantage of a registry cleaner to repair the error, you first need to remove the virus using an anti-virus program. Or it will infect your computer again.Registry cleaner are said to be able to clean and fix more found registry errors, and those errors, are not divided into categories. You are recommended to download some popular registry cleaner or system optimizer on download sites and give them a try.
i found a way to remove it using my registry systems. the virus was backdoor.trojan which is worm virus dats why it keeps on coming back even when you thought u had removed it. following symantecs removal of worm virus i was able to delete it from my restore folder.
The best way to do it is with a Virus Scanner. If you know what you're doing you could remove it yourself. You'd need to delete the exexutable [.exe] and remove the registry edits, if it has any, remove all startup processes that point to the virus and any data it has.
You can not do that because virus uses programming to edit in registry. If you are trying to recover registry after virus has edited them then your efforts are worthless because best antivirus Kaspersky too fails to do that. This is because, registry is basically collection of settings which user wants for himself.Due to this reason any antivirus does not interfere with registry.
Housecall is not a virus but an online virus scanner
Did you mean. Registry errors? Yes yu can remove it with the help of registry cleaner which will speed up your pc.
essentially, if someone is out to get you, they will install a Trojan virus on your system, that's what weel be referring to in my answer, well you see, theres something in an operating system called a registry, if you run a virus on your computer, it edits that ""registry"" compromising your computer, its kind of like windows accepts this virus as a vital part of the operating system, therfore allowing full control over the computer, and allowing it to boot up with the rest of your core processes, you can remove it however, by knowing where to look and re-writing that ""registry""
