You have to either delete it yourself or using a code to hide them. If you search for hiding ads (or similar) you can find the code. Take remove them completely though you have to do it yourself and have an understanding of HTML code. Usually the ads are at the top of the code and mention the website or banners. You just have to know what to look for and if you do it on your own then cut the text update your profile and if you took something off that wasn't supposed to be taken off then update it again and paste it back.

I can tell you how to take them out of layouts from http://www.profilerehab.com because i use their site a lot they have an explanation on how to remove the link. You might want to go to profilerehab to get a layout anyway because their site is the only layout site that doesn't have pop-ups (which are also freakin annoying!). I will only use their website because of the no-pop ups thing and they have really cool layouts.
