Piece o cake. Jack it up and secure it with safety stands. Remove the wheels. remove the rear cover from the differential. There is a bolt that goes through the carrier. It takes a 5/16 wrench to remove it. After removing it, slide the main pin out. You will have to rotate the carrier to do this. Push the axles in and remove the clips on the ends of the axle shafts. Pull the out. Remove the four bolts that hold the carrier in and pry it out. that's pretty much it. be sure to replace the axle seals while your there. Also, after installing the new bearings, you will need to set the gear lash and bearing load. take your time and get it right and you will have no problems. Good luck.

No a 1972 Chevy pickup is not the same model as a 1973 Chevy pickup. I believe it goes from 1967-1972, 1973-1980, 1981-1987. Doors will work from 1973-1976, 1977-1987. You would need to find 1972 doors as they are the only ones taht will fit a 1972. 1967-1971 are the same but there is something different about 1972 doors.
where are the holes located in the roof of a 1972 chevy nova for seat belt installation
