Unplug light connector, remove 6 bolts into frame, remove 3 screws securing filler neck, remove gas cap, remove bolts to any braces around fenderwells and lift of with a few friends. You will probably need a special star socket for bed about a t50 I think. This is how you do a Ranger to get to the fuel pump, then you can slide it back over bumper, I think ALL trucks are basically the same.

to replace taillights on 1997 ford pickup, lower tailgate. on inside of bed that is hidden when tail gate is closed, u will see 2 screws.. remove those screws and the tail light assembly will come out of the truck body. disconect the wires and you have succesfully removed the tail light
