Karmann Ghia Trunk? I am not sure what you are asking, but will try to answer what you might have asked. The VW Type 14 Karmann Ghia has a front trunk for luggage much like the VW Sedan (Bug) does. The Ghia has a pull handle on earlier models, and a small lever in later ones to open the front hood. Lindsey Lee PS from Altema: In addition to the front trunk, there is a rear luggage compartment behind the rear seat which is surprisingly large, and the rear seat flips down to become a carpeted luggage platform which extends under the rear window. As a bonus, there is a pair of hidden empty spaces under the rear seat (I'd recommend tool box liner to protect the metal floor).
yes I would not recommend doing this, as the seat frames are different, a bug seat is higher than a Ghia seat, not sure if the bug seat and ghia seat have the same frame rails, however, might be a problem with headroom. The Ghia is substantially lower than a bug, the front seat area is both wider, and a bit longer than on a bug, and seats would generally not be considered interchangeable.
no 68 seat tracks are wider than the 69and up ghias
behind the drivers seat you''ll a white or black knob. Pulling the knob will open the engine compartiment
There is very little headroom in a Hardtop Ghia in the rear seat area, adequate for even a 6 footer in the front however much taller than that and you would have a problem. Convertibles do not have that problem but with a fairly short windshield, you would find that the headroom is limited at best for a tall person. The overall dimensions of the Karmann Ghia were established in the early 1950's and remained pretty much unchanged through the last year of production in 1974. Earlier seats actually have you sitting a bit lower than later ones anyway.
how do I remove the front seat from a 1991 fatboy
Remove front passenger seat on Lexus es300?
Remove the 10mm bolt from behing the rear seat. Then pull the rear seat it hooks to the front seat in the front. Remove the bracket there and pull the front.
Starting in year model 1958, Karmann Coachworks built a Ghia Convertible. There are a number of differences between the Ghia vert and the hardtop, specifically the rear seat is narrower, the body is reinforced below the doors inside the rocker panels, the windows are slightly different, heater vents are in different places in the rear etc. While there are a number of chop top ghias, they are not correct. Karmann never built a type I ragtop, with the metal roof cut out for a soft top center much like the early (up through '63) bug sunroof models. There are a number of Ghias which have been modified to install a ragtop, but none were done by the factory Lindsey Lee
No, and not optional. In fact the "no back seat belt" question was answered the last years of production by eliminating the back seat. The back seat was intended for lower insurance rates by claiming 2+2 under body style. It is my understanding that Karmann Ghias never had backseat safety belts, as the backseat area was intended for cargo (i.e. groceries, luggage, etc.) but not for passengers.
