If you mean to ask, how do you remove a gerbil from its cage then i can help you. First of all if you have just purchased your gerbil and it has been put in a new environment you shouldn't pick it up for a couple of days.

Gerbils are easy to pick up, all u have to do is just put your hands in the cage and wrap your hands under their body and lift them up. after you do it a couple times it will get easier. hope this helped! ; )

What happens if you haven't cleaned your gerbil's cage in a few months and then just cleaned it and now your gerbil is very jumpy Is this bad?

No. It is perfectly normal. This means that your gerbil needs some time to get used to his/her cage. Don't take it out for an hour or so after putting it in.
