Your suppose to get the key and at the end of the key you stick it to the hubcap and try pushing force to it and then try pulling it back and try your hardest to get a good grip on the hubcap too, after you think you have a good grip on it try to pull back not slowly but then not that fast either and then if it doesnt budge then keep trying the same technic over and over until you remove the hubcap!!(:
there is a spcial key required to remove them
Very Simple. This can be one of two things used on that model car. It can be the tool used either to remove the wire wheel covers or possible used for unlocking the lug nut on wheel. ALL DONE> Brought to you by Hubcaps Unlimited www.hubcapnation http://www.hubcapnation.com

Try using the lug wrench
Flush the lock with a lubricant. Use the handle of the broken key as a guide. Find a thin wire and stiff it along the sides of the broken key part. Hold the wire in place and remove the part.

buy a new key at the dealer for about $27.
Locksmiths have a tool that is basically a hooked piece of thin wire. I had a broken key in the lock that i had to remove so i used a very thin piece of wire and made a small 90 degree bend in it. The idea is to slide the wire (hooked end) along the key and get to the end of the key and get the bent end of the wire hooking the tip of the key. Then simply pull the broken end of the key out. In effect you are using a small, long fishhook to get the key out. Use a pair of pliars to bend the wire. Remember that the wire has to be thin and fairly strong. Coat hanger and bailing wire is much too thick. While breaking the lock, if the lock was damaged then you may have to replace the lock. The key may be jammed in too tightly.
A hubcap key is helpful in the removal of the New VW Beetle, a pair of Allen wrenches may be substituted in a pinch. Loosen the lug nuts prior to jacking up. Remove the nuts once jacked up, and pull up.
Yes if it's the wire wheels. Around the center cap of the hubcap are small notches that you can use to pry it off. Under the center cap is the lock-nut that you need a special hubcap key to unscrew (it should have been with the car when you bought it). After you unscrew the lock-nut, the hubcaps will come off with no problem.
Go to a junk yard and start looking through cars for a replacement key.
It should be in your glovebox or console, if it's missing consult your dealer for a replacement
