Start -> Folder Options -> View
Check: Show hidden files, folders, and drives
Ucheck: Hide protected operating system files
Now all the album art will be visible so you can simply delete and refresh the folder.
Note: Don't forget to check the "Hide protected operating system files" after you are done.
P.S. If this doesn't work, use the freeware Mp3tag.
You can't.
the difference between windows media player 11 and 9 is the album art is supplied from the internet from music on your computer so you can find out who made the music easily, (requires internet) other than the upgrade to album art windows media player 9 is not much difference to the upgraded version. I recommend windows player 11 better still

If you have windows media player, this makes it easy. You have to copy the picture you want, then go to the song you want on windows media player and on the the blank album picture that says paste album art here, right click and select paste album art here. Job Done!

The little square next to the artist name in Windows Media Player 10 indicates the presence of album art or a thumbnail associated with that artist. Clicking on the square allows you to view or edit the album art for the currently selected track or album. If the square is empty, it means that no album art has been assigned to that particular artist or album.
