To remove the spare tire on a Mercury Mariner insert the jack handle into the hole provided on the rear bumper of the vehicle. Turn the jack handle clockwise to lower the spare from underneath the vehicle.

Remove the wiring harness from the bottom of your 1996 Mercury Cougar automatic antenna. Remove the retaining nuts at the bottom of the antenna. Reverse the process to install your new automatic antenna.
