how to remove back brakes on a 2002 Chevy surban
First id have to get my back brakes on your Chevy 2500 silverado.
remove rear wheel, remove brakes and cylinder is held on by 2 bolts from back of plate. remove bolts and brake line from cylinder !! somtimes you can take top nails holding brakes out to allow room to remove cylinder.
true you do not need to remove the caliper to change the brakes. how evever they are removeable. you should be able to loosen one bolt on the caliper and flip it up to remove the pads.
If there a 16in wheel or bigger yes
Watch how you take them off and put them back on the same way. Then you have to bleed them since there drum brakes
remove the rear brakes, then remove the brake line to cylinder. remove the bolt holding cylinder on. then pull out wheel cylinder. to install cylinder, position it in place, put bolt back in cylinder to hold it. hook back up the brake line then put the brake shoes back on. when done bleed the system if need be.
after emoving wheel and brake drum you will have to teke brakes off. i usually do one side at a time so i can see how to put the springs back on. once brakes off indo brake line and tthen the two bolts that attach it to backing plate. after replacing you will have to bleed brakes
vice-grips
This question needs to more specific. Disc or drum? Front or back?
