Drain the brake fluid from the brake master cylinder reservoir. Remove the wiring harness from the brake cylinder. Remove the brake lines. Remove the brake cylinder retaining nuts. Reverse the process to install the new master brake cylinder.
First use the appropriate flare nut wrench to remove the brake lines from the master cylinder. Then remove any wiring connectors. Then remove the two nuts that hold the master cylinder to the brake booster and the master cylinder should come right off.
Begin by removing the brake lines. Remove the master cylinder retaining bolts. The master cylinder will come off. Reverse the process to install a new master cylinder.
Good time to replace all the brake fluid. Remove the brake lines from the Master Cylinder and pump the master cylinder dry. Add fresh brake fluid from an unopened can and bleed the master cylinder. Reinstall the brake lines and then bleed all brake lines until you see clean fluid. Keep adding fluid to the Master Cylinder until you are done.Good time to replace all the brake fluid. Remove the brake lines from the Master Cylinder and pump the master cylinder dry. Add fresh brake fluid from an unopened can and bleed the master cylinder. Reinstall the brake lines and then bleed all brake lines until you see clean fluid. Keep adding fluid to the Master Cylinder until you are done.
Remove the fill cap and add it at the brake fluid master cylinder reservoir. Located on or near the master cylinder.
Remove electrical connections from old master cylinder remove and plug brake lines remove mounting bolts and pull off from brake booster BENCH BLEED new master cylinder prior to installing Install in reverse order of removal If bench bled properly should not have to bleed brake lines
remove the two nuts holding the master cylinder on the power brake booster
You have to remove the brake master cylinder and remove alternator through there.
It is threaded into the master cylinder. If you can't reach from under, remove the fuel tank to expose the master cylinder and brake light switch.
remove brake lines, remove bolts on the bracket that holds the cylinder to the brake booster then its free. Some cases you will have to pry open the brake shoes.
Unplug electrical connections Remove and cover brake lines Remove mounting bolts Remove master cylinder Install in reverse order BE SURE TO "BENCH" BLEED NEW MASTER CYLINDER PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
