The best way is two fold. First freeze the glob of gum with an ice cube. This will enable you to pick most of it off the clothing. Second use a mineral oil solvent on the remainder. I use a product called "goo gone", but simple mineral oil will do fine. Finally, clean the oil residue with a simple household degreaser like Shout or Resolve. Wash normally.
